A Day in the Life of an Artist

Today is Day 28 of the #30paintingsin30days challenge. The theme of this challenge is Thirty Things You May Not Know About the Artist.

Today's painting was inspired by my dear mother, Joan Rae Glass. Eighty-five years young this year, she has always been so kind, generous and full of life. And she has been a very important part of my artistic journey. At the age of seven, she enrolled me for my first painting lesson. She currently lives alone, however we have a few days a week that we spend together eating lunch, shopping or going to the movies. This quick pastel sketch is incomplete, but after the 30 day challenge I am anxious to return to this sketch and create more details that will capture her inner and outer beauty.
