A Day in the Life of an Artist

Day 9 - #30paintingsin30days - Mariemont

Today is Day 9 of the #30paintingsin30days.

Todays painting is a plein air painting that began as a block in study during a painting outing with the Southwest Ohio Plein Air Painters, and then later finished in the studio.  From April to October the SWOPAP group of artists paints plein air weekly at the area parks.

I have always admired the english tudor architecture in the beautiful town of Mariemont. Founder Marie Emery, (1844-1927), was appalled by the unsanitary housing conditions in downtown Cincinnati, and she was determined to use her vast fortune to establish a model town which would be planned in every detail to provide its residents with a high quality of life.  Emery named the new town after her summer home in Rhode Island, and it is pronounced Mary-mont.

The Mariemont theatre continues to create fun memories as I frequently enjoy taking my mother to the matinees.

I would love to know your thoughts.  Comments are welcomed below or here!
