Findlay Market Day is another piece that joins the Cincinnati Landmark Collection, the Collection that has been consuming my time during this international pandemic. The architecture and the market caught my attention with the morning sunlight on the buildings. Many people were inside the market getting fresh produce, and home made breads, cheeses, and everything. It’s like going to a market in Europe! Entering this market is like stepping back in time! Did you know that this market is rich in history? Findlay Market is Ohio's oldest surviving municipal market house. It was designed under the direction of City Civil Engineer Alfred West Gilbert (1816-1900) using a durable but unconventional cast and wrought iron frame, a construction technology that had been little used in the United States.
