Pink Peonies in White Vase

Taking a break from painting the Cincinnati Landmarks with posting of a still life today. I always have enjoyed painting Peonies flowers. No wonder these flowers are the favorite of artists.  It is almost like the shape of the oil painting brush is the same shape as the petals of the peonies.  There is a softness and fluffiness to these flowers that make them so desirable not only for artists but for interior flower arrangements. I enjoy the contrast of the dark background against the pale pink flower petals. I wanted a stark contrast from background to the flowers so I was almost painting these in the dark with a spotlight. All of my paintings arrived signed and with a Certificate of Authenticity.
